Happy Birthday, Karlee!

In honor of Karlee's birthday, thought I would post some pictures from this last year of two of my favorite ladies.

Lessons from Perrie

Our chatterbox's vocabulary has expanded considerably in the last few months such that I am officially now learning new words from her. She enjoys prancing around our living room "doing my arabesque". That's right, arabesque. Apparently, she has seen some ballet video on YouTube. I had to google what an arabesque is and here is the picture. I've tried getting a picture of Perrie's arabesque, but she is not so good at posing for pictures these days so I'll have to keep trying.

PS - Not sure what this foreshadows for our next 16 years, but it can't be good!

29 Months

Somehow over the past 2 years Perrie has transitioned from a tiny inactive baby into a bright, bubbly, silly, energetic, smart 2-year-old. It has been fun to see her crazy little personality develop (I have no idea where it came from), and she is up to new things every day.

Perrie loves to tell us what she is going to do "someday". The list includes . . .

-play basketball, football, and baseball

-drive a truck, backhoe, and firetruck

-be a ballerina

-play the guitar and violin

-have a farmhouse

We planted this magnolia tree for Perrie when she was born. It is turning into quite a beautiful tree - just like our little baby girl!

Happy Easter!

For Easter this year, we enjoyed a visit from Grandpa Jim and Grandma Jo. Besides a bit of a plumbing issue (had to keep the boys busy), it was a great weekend.

Saturday was a sunny day (which has been rare this spring). We took advantage of the weather and went to the zoo for their easter egg hunt. Apparently everyone else in Seattle with small children had the same idea!

Perrie got to see the Easter bunny. After she gave the Easter bunny a hug she said "That's not a real bunny. Bunnies don't wear shoes - that's silly." Can't slip much past her.

On Sunday, we had a nice brunch downtown after church. Delicious food . . . and Perrie even got some more jellybeans from the waitress.

I had to include these pictures because Perrie couldn't smile for her Easter picture with those silly jelly beans stuck in her teeth.

Hunting for Easter eggs . . . I think she was hoping that they would ALL be filled with jelly beans - no such luck.
