Needed an excuse to get this picture off my phone. Here goes.
Over Christmas break I got an email from a friend of mine asking if Karlee and I would be willing to do a little babysitting for them so they could go out for dinner on their anniversary. I told them it would be fine, except Karlee would be working that night. I figured I was the afterthought of the babysitting tandem, but surprising to me I was still their best option.
I got there around 6:30 and my only choir was to keep 4+ month old Madeline happy for an hour and a half, feed her and put her to bed. Shortly after her parents left she realized that I wasn't one of them and started to cry. I tried every trick I could think of (which honestly mostly consists of bouncing around the house and shaking toys that sound cool), but nothing worked. After about 25 minutes of crying I thought at least I could turn on the tv to get some different noise. To my amazement Madeline loved it. For the next hour or so I couldn't stray much farther than 10 feet from the TV or madeline would once again realize that I wasn't her father. Besides that, the night went great. She got to bed on time and her parent got to go on their first date in awhile. BTW, I made it through the night without having to change a diaper :)

Your Uncle John knows all about that crying. He watched Jonah one afternoon while Tim, Tereza and I went to the theater. Needless to say the TV didn't work and Jonah finally cried himself to sleep. Good job Brandon. Auntie M
