Flat Stanley’s Seattle Adventure

I made it to Seattle safe and sound for my little adventure with Basil’s Uncle Brandon, Aunt Karlee, and Cousins Perrie and Isaac. I had a really boring first couple of days as everyone had to go to work and they left me at home with Moka the cat. However, we finally went on a big sightseeing adventure Saturday morning.

People always say it rains a lot in Seattle and boy were they right today. Today, it was pouring rain and cold (only 37 degrees). So the first thing I did was find myself an umbrella and some rain boots. Since I was in Seattle, I thought I would go to the University of Washington (my second favorite school behind Montana State) and pick up a Husky umbrella. I am down at the bottom of the giant ‘W’.

Next, as any good Seattleite would do, I grabbed myself my first cup of coffee.
and headed off to see the Space Needle

Did you know that the Space needle is 605 feet tall and has a restaurant on the top that spins around while you eat? It was so cool.

Next, I went to Pike Place Market

with Basil’s cousin Perrie to get some flowers

Pike Place Market is a huge farmers market that has been open for 105 years!!! Besides the pretty flowers, there are lots of other stuff to buy and see like bakeries, butcher shops, candy, restaurants, hotels, artists, street musicians and local fish and seafood. In fact, I got a picture in front of the famous fish tossers. Check it out; it is the picture where I am sitting on Rachel the famous Pike Place Market piggy bank
I was so hungry after all our walking that I needed to grab some yummy donuts
As we left, I grabbed another coffee at Starbucks
Did you know Starbucks started in Pike Place Market? What a cool place! Can you see the Puget Sound in the background?
We left the market and went to watch a Seahawks game at CenturyLink Field
Nobody told me it wasn’t football season L. Maybe next trip. Before I left I wanted to get a great view of Seattle so we went up onto a big hill. In the first picture you can see Safeco Field where the Mariners play baseball
and you can see all the big buildings of Seattle in the second
Well, I’m back in the car now getting ready to head back to Glendive
I had a lot of fun in Seattle. I sure got wet and my umbrella barely made it, but I can’t wait to come back to visit.

P.S. That Flat Stanley - we turned our head for 5 minutes and he snuck off. Fortunately, it didn't take us long to find him.
